Shiga Kogen

Take only pictures, leave only ski trails
Welcomed, i take the first dance.
Flatten, part, guide,
glide i turn myself within.
In these parts my being blends in
,no sharp contrast just union.
Gargantuan a view but single a feeling.
Mother nature lay her blanket
 for me to indulge in.
-Benjamin Michael Spenceley
"...by bringing myself over the edge and back, I discovered a passion to live my days fully, a conviction that will sustain me like sweet water on the periodically barren plain of our short lives."
-- Jonathan Waterman

Vintage SKI and Travel Posters

"Kilimanjaro is a snow-covered mountain 19,710 feet high, and is said to be the highest mountain in Africa. Its western summit is called by the Masai "Ngàje Ngài," the House of God. Close to the western summit there is the dried and frozen carcass of a leopard. No one has explained what the leopard was seeking at that altitude." Hemingway

Iv used this quote before but as i get myself ready for my first ski trip in some time , i thought it was quite poignant! I defiantly know what ill be seeking when i hit the lofty heights of Shiga Kogen ski resort  Yamanouchi, Nagano,Japan and thats pure hedonism.

Been collecting these beautiful old ski and travel posters for a while so thought colligate them on here.
